Accountability and Standards Group

Our accountability team have all worked in education at high levels and offer a vast array of knowledge and experience.

At its best, school accountability is a self-improving system reflects both models and must capture both purposes. The best school leaders embrace both forms of accountability. They benchmark our school against the best practice that is reflected in the Ofsted inspection framework; they evaluate our performance and are honest about the school’s strengths and weaknesses; and they use both stakeholder and peer review to open up their practice to help them develop teachers’ capacity and children’s learning.

Our Accountability & Standards Team

Pete Hargrave - Curriculum Focus

Pete has worked in education for the last 37 years, in which for 20 years he was a Headteacher of a Primary & Junior School.

Pete has always been interested in Education, and decided to study up to a Masters in Education at the University of Leeds.

Pete's educational background doesn't stop in the UK! He has spent  some time in China supporting students and teachers. A working member of the School Food Trust, providing children high quality food within school and teaching them about food and healthy lifestyles.

A Few words from Pete

"I have always valued how important a broad

and balanced approach to the curriculum is and

how there is no ceiling to what a child can achieve

with the right education and good teaching.

The challenge is to find the right key to unlock the

door to education." (As of September 2019)

Steve Baxter - Compliance

"As an experience manager part of my role is to ensure we meet or exceed high standards across the whole school. To achieve this requires a knowledgeable team with clear direction and the ability to challenge where necessary. Throughout the academic year audit dates and focus have been set in the calendar. These audits have strict criteria to ensure compliance and will provide the school development areas from which to create our School Development Plan. In my career my focus has been to develop areas into an outstanding provision, and I am confident as a school we will achieve that at Act Fast." (As of September 2023)
