After School Club
What are after-school clubs?
After-school clubs are opportunities for children to engage in extra-curricular activities at the end of school. Schools centre after-school clubs around a wide range of opportunities, such as:
-
sports
-
outdoor activities, such as gardening or Forest School
-
skills and activities, such as coding
-
hobbies and crafts
-
academic boost sessions
What are the benefits?
-
Give students access to activities they might not otherwise have. After-school clubs based at school allow students to take part in activities that might otherwise be too costly in time or money for families to afford.
-
Allow students to experience a range of new experiences.
-
Boost confidence and self-esteem.
-
Support physical health and development. Sports and other activities gave students the opportunity to develop physically and experience more physical activity.
-
Help students develop social skills and friendships.
-
Improved changes in behaviour.
